My interest in health and nutrition began with my own health issues in my late teens and early 20s. Growing up in a large Italian family with plenty of pasta and homemade bread shaped my health and my destiny. My first introduction to nutrition-based healing was through a book entitled Healing with Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford. The concepts and principles of this book opened up a new world of understanding around health, healing and well-being. It helped me to resolve my health issues, and inspired me to switch my career as a financial analyst, into the natural healthcare arena through Birthingway College of Midwifery.

While in midwifery school, I studied nutrition and herbal medicine and its application to preconception health care, prenatal care, labor and birth, post-partum care, lactation support, and women’s and children’s healthcare. I focused on homebirth midwifery for 5 years and then my career path diverted in two directions – private nutritional consulting with a specialty in preconception/fertility and as the Oregon Field Representative for Standard Process (a professional line of whole food nutritional supplements – the gold standard in the nutrition industry).

I continued my ongoing nutritional and herbal self-study, attained a Nutritional Therapy certification in 2003, and a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine in 2017. During my 20 years with Standard Process, I provided healthcare and nutrition-based consultation/education to a large account-base of licensed healthcare practitioners and students (Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Medical Doctors, Dentists, Acupuncturists, Nutritional Consultants, Massage Therapists, etc.) throughout Oregon and SW Washington.

In 2013, I co-authored a book entitled the Chinese Medicine Clinical Reference Guide which serves  as an interface between Chinese Medicine concepts and Western nutrition application. I authored and was the instructor for a PCC course – Nutrition in the Childbearing Year, and I’ve just completed a Functional Nutrition Reference Manual – a guide to the application of nutritional and herbal support in the health care practice.

It is my goal to bring about a shift in the foundational understanding and attainment of vital health through diet, lifestyle, and nutritional/herbal support.
